One of our goals at the I-77 Alliance this year is to further leverage partnerships, including sharing the knowledge and expertise of other organizations that are trying to accomplish the same things in our four counties and across the state.

In that spirit, we’d like to call your attention to the 2017 Competitiveness Report from Engenuity SC, a Columbia-based economic development non-profit that works to enhance competitiveness and prosperity in the Midlands of South Carolina.

Here at the South Carolina I-77 Alliance we’re looking for another productive, even exciting, year showing prospective new employers why the four counties from Charlotte to Columbia are great places to invest and grow.

Each week we share a variety of updates covering topics such as commercial real estate, target industry resources, quality of life amenities, or CEO testimonials. All this information lets the Alliance speak to the benefits awaiting those enterprises that choose to locate or expand here.

Co-opetition among stakeholders in the I-77 corridor and across the state will be the key now and going forward to attract vibrant, expanding industries interested in investing and thriving in our region.

On March 2, 2016, then South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley established the Local Government Competitiveness Council. The Executive Order establishing the Council required that the Council consist of business leaders with expertise in the areas of workforce, infrastructure and taxes.
