Richland

Almost 400,000 people call Richland County home, making it the second largest county in the state. It’s also home to the capital city of Columbia and the state’s largest university—The University of South Carolina.

Residents of Richland County enjoy excellent public schools, a cost of living that is below the national average, a vibrant economy and an overall enviable quality of life. They also enjoy the fact that three different Interstates (I-20, I-26, and I-77) run through the county, providing excellent access in to, out of and around the region.

At approximately 775 square miles, Richland County offers plenty of neighborhood options. Recent college grads may like to stay close to downtown and live in a maintenance-free condo. New parents may choose to go a bit further out, where they’ll find larger lots and easy access to grocery stores and pharmacies. And those that want complete privacy can find it at the corners of the county, where large tracts of land still exist virtually untouched by development.
